Uppu Urundai/ Easy Uppu Urundai / Steamed Rice Flour Dumplings / Uppu Kozhukattai

Uppu Urundai is an easy and healthy South Indian breakfast/snacks recipe.. It’s a steamed rice balls flavored wonderfully with Indian seasonings. This is a light and delicious dish, very soothing and comfortable for your tummy. All my family members love it.. 


1 cup Rice Flour
2 cup Water
1/2 Grated Coconut
Salt to taste

For Seasoning:

2 tsp Oil 
1 tsp Mustard Seeds 
I tsp Cumin seeds
3-4 Dry Red Chilly (Gundu Millagai)
2  tsp Channa dal
1/4 tsp Hing


1.Wash and soak the rice in sufficient water for a minimum of 3 hrs. You can leave it to soak overnight as well.

2. Transfer the rice to a mixie/blender, add sufficient water and grind it into a coarse batter. The batter should be slightly thin.

3. Now add the coconut, salt to the batter and pulse for a couple of times until everything is blended well. Keep it aside.

4. Heat oil in a pan, add in all the seasoning ingredients and saute for a min. 

5. Now, add the batter to the pan and stir continuously until the water evaporates from the batter and it comes to a ball consistency. Turn off the flame and let it slightly cool down until you will be able to handle it with your hands.

6. Once it is cool enough, make small sized balls. Steam the balls for 10 – 15 mins until they are cooked through. I have steamed in my idly cooker..

7. Serve hot with tomato thokku or any spicy chutney or any chutney of your choice.


🔥While making the balls, roll them gently. If you roll the balls tightly, then the balls will turn out hard after steaming.
🔥You can oil your palms if the batter is sticking while rolling the balls.
🔥Do not over steam the balls, they would turn out hard

Easy home made donuts / No yeast donuts/Donuts

My delicious homemade No Yeast,No Egg, Soft Donut Recipe is so quick and easy to make.
These homemade donuts can be mixed up and fried in minutes. I tried it for the first time without yeast as my daughter was craving for Chocolate donut…
Since this is a yeast free recipe, the texture of these donuts will be different compared to the yeast donuts.
All you need to achieve a donut is a mixing bowl,  and simple ingredients like the All purpose flour (obviously), Sugar (I used powdered sugar. Any sugar will work) and other simple ingredients you are likely going to have in your pantry. The dough is made under few minutes. So easy. Let’s move on to the recipe now..

Ingredients :

1 cup  Maida (all purpose flour)
1/4  tsp Salt 
1 tsp Oil
1/2 Baking Powder 
1/4 cup Powdered Sugar
1/4 cup Milk 
1/4 cup Butter 
Oil for Deep frying

For Chocolate Glaze:

1/2 cup Icing Sugar
2 tsp Milk 
1 tsp Vanilla Essence
2 tsp Coco powder

Method : 

1) Take flour, Sugar, salt, baking powder in a bowl and mix well. Set aside.

2) Take a sauce pan add butter, milk and oil.. Heat till the butter melt. Now add to the maida flour mixture.

3)Mix and knead. Add little by little milk and knead a soft dough.

4) Heat oil in a pan in low flame. Now divide the dough into 7part. Take one part roll like you roll for a gulab jamun /roti.. Roll and  make a flat disc. Dip finger in flour amd make a hole like doughnuts.

4)Now drop doughnuts in oil and fry till golden on both sides.

5) Remove doughnuts and place on a paper towel to absorb the grease. Allow the doughnuts to cool before consuming

6)Make glaze by mixing all ingredients ( sugar powder, Coco powder and vanilla essence) in a bowl. Add milk little by little and make a little semi thick consistency. 

7) Dip donuts  into the prepared chocolate glaze, shake off any excess and decorate them with sprinkles (optional) Let it set.

8)Serve the doughnut holes immediately or store them in an air-tight container

This doughnut is best enjoyed when still hot and fresh.


1) All-purpose flour. You’ll get the lightest texture with all-purpose flour but pastry flour or fresh ground soft white wheat works too.

Jackfruit seed salad/ Healthy jackfruit seed salad

 If you happen to get your hands on a jackfruit, please don’t throw the seeds away. Instead, wash, boil and peel them and then use them in this hearty and filling Easy Jackfruit Seed salad. My own dish , I tried it for the first time and everyone in my family loved it.. So you also try and make your family happy… Jackfruit Seed Salad Recipe is a power packed salad as it has fresh ingredients like onions, and cucumbers combined with jackfruit seed.
It’s easy and a great way to prepare jackfruit seeds.


1 cup jackfruit seeds
1 cup onion chopped
1 cup cucumber chopped
1 green chilly chopped
Chopped coarinder leaves
1 tsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp jeera powder
salt and pepper to taste


1. Place the jackfruit seeds in a pan, add enough water into the pan to cover the jackfruit seeds and boil them for 25 minutes.

2.Let them cool, when cool enough to handle, slowly peel off the outer white covering. You only need to peel away the outer white skin. The thin inner brown skin is edible. Some of the seeds will have naturally opened, but others may take some effort to peel. Be careful, the skin can be sharp.

3. Now cut them into round slices.

4. Now add chopped cucumber , onion and green chilli one by one.

5.Add chopped coriander leaves and jeera powder.

6. Now add salt to taste, and lemon juice and toss Jackfruit seed Salad well.

7. Transfer the Salad to a bowl and serve.

Serve it as a mid day snack in an office lunch box or as part of an everyday meal…..

Instant 2 Mins Biscuit Mug Cake

Instant 2 mins biscuit mug cake in Microwave is a very easy recipe which can be prepared by anyone!!!
This is my own version of the biscuits microwave mug cake.
You just require a microwave oven and very few ingredients.
This chocolaty fudgy treat is truly decadent and great for nights when me and my family demand a yummy dessert that is ready in less than 10 minutes. This cake gets ready in a jiffy and tastes great. It is a very spongy and textured cake. What more? – it is Eggless!
Not only that they are easy to make, but also taste wonderful.

4 Dark fantasy biscuit
6 good day cookies
1 spoon icing sugar(or powdered sugar)
1/4 spoon baking powder
2 tbsp milk
1 tbsp vegetable oil or sunflower oil

1. Grind both the biscuits like powder and empty in a large bowl
2. Add, icing sugar and baking powder.
3. Then Add oil and milk …
4. Mix it gently until no lumps are formed.
5. The mixture should be smooth,neither very thin nor very thick.
6. Grease the mug with oil and pour the mixture. The mug should be just half full, so the cake has space to rise.
7.Centre your mug in the middle of the microwave oven and cook on High for 1½ -2 mins, or until it has stopped rising and is firm to the touch.
8.Take out the cake and put a toothpick or a fork in it and if the toothpick comes out clean, your delicious cake is ready!!!!!
9.  Let cool for 2 to 3 minutes before eating.

1) You could make variations by adding nuts / berries.

2) Grab your favorite mug (make sure it’s microwave-safe!)

3) You can try with any biscuit available at your home ..

Paneer tikka recipe | recipe of paneer tikka on tawa

Paneer tikka is an Indian dish made from chunks of paneer marinated in spices, curd and grilled in a tandoor.. Its a popular veg starter or appetizer recipe which is heavily popular in India. I tried in tawa because of smoky flavour it has to offer. These paneer tikka can be served as a starter or a snack with sliced onions, lime and mint chutney. 250 to 300 grams paneer (I have used cavin paneer)
1 medium to large bell pepper (capsicum – green or yellow or red)
1 medium to large tomato
1 medium to large onion
1 cup thick curd ( yogurt) 
¾  tsp turmeric powder
½  tsp coriander powder
¾  tsp cumin powder (ground cumin)
¾ tsp oil
¾ tsp garam masala 
½ ginger garlic paste 
1 tsp red chilli powder
Salt to taste 

Method :

1.First add one  cup of curd in a bowl or pan.

2. Thn add all ingredients one by one  ( turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, red chilli powder, ginger garlic paste , salt and little oil).

3. Stir and mix well till u get a thick batter.

4. Add the diced vegetable (capsicum, tomato , onion and paneer slices).

5. With your hands mix very well. So that the marinade coats the paneer and veggies evenly.

6.  Cover the bowl & keep the marinade in the fridge for 30 minutes so that the paneer can absorb all the masala evenly.

7. Take wooden skewer or toothpick, arrange the paneer cubes and veggies one by one.

8. Take little oil in non stick grill pan place the skewers and cook on a medium flame.

9. Keep checking and turning them around all sides for even grilling. When they turn golden, transfer them to serving plate.

10. Serve the paneer tikka hot or warm with onion lemon salad or mint chutney.


First, when you prepare paneer tikka on stove top, either use a non stick or ceramic pan or use a well seasoned tawa or griddle. Even tawas on which you make dosas also work well.
Secondly, I have used fresh homemade curd u can also use yogurt.

Corn pakoda or corn bajiya

Corn pokoda is one of the most loved snack at our home. it is a simple and crispy sweet corn based fritters or pakora recipe prepared mainly with chickpea flour and rice flour.
They are crisp and crunchy on the outside and soft, warm, melt-in-the-mouth on the inside. Here is how to make Sweet Corn Pakoda Recipe or Corn Bhajia Recipe.



2 cup sweet corn
1/2 teaspoon garlic paste
1/2 teaspoon ginger paste
3 tablespoon gram flour (besan)
3 tablespoon rice flour
1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
2 green chilli
salt as required
powdered turmeric as required
1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
oil to deep fry.


1.Take a large bowl, add the sweet corn, onions, green chilies, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric, garam masala powder, besan, rice flour and salt.
2.Combine and mix well add little water if required.
3.Sprinkle little water to this and make this into a tight dough.
4. Now drop the corn pakoda mixture into the hot oil.Stir occasionally and fry on medium flame.

5. Fry the pakora turns crispy and golden brown color. Note:takes approximately 10-12 minutes.

  1.  6.Drain them on kitchen tissues.
    Finally, serve crispy corn pakoda with with green chutney and sweet chutney.

    1)Garam masala can be replaced with chat masala too.
    2)Ensure that there is no moisture in the corn while adding it to the mixture, especially if using the frozen corn.

Mushroom Manchurian Recipe

Mushroom manchurian recipe, a popular, restaurant style Indian Chinese mushroom starter that is simply delicious.. Mushroom manchurian is my favorite among mushroom starters Indian chinese style. Mushroom Manchurian is rich source of protein and hence it’s suitable to be served to kids. It is a great party food. if you love mushrooms you will love this dish.
Ingredients :
15- 20 pieces long and thin cut Mushrooms
1/2 cup Corn flour
1/2 cup All purpose flour(maida)
1/2 tbsp Pepper
2 tsp Soya sauce
1/ 4 cup Spring onions
1/4 cup Capsicums
1 chopped Green chilli
1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
1tsp Red chilli sauce
1/2 tbsp Green chill sauce
1/4 tbsp Vinegar
2 tbsp Tomato ketchup salt to taste

Method :
1) Prepare a batter
corn flour, all purpose flour(maida) , salt, pepper and a pinch of soya sauce taken in a bowl and mixed. Required amount of water is added in intervals and is beaten rapidly. make sure there are no lumps in the liquid batter.
2)Fry the mushroom
wash the mushrooms nicely and cut them thin and long. Now sprinkle some cornstarch powder on the mushrooms and mix them. Now put the mushrooms in the batter and mix them thoroughly. Now your mushrooms are ready to go into the frying pan. Take oil in the pan to deep fry the mushrooms, Deep fry the mushrooms until they turn brown and take them out and keep it aside.
3) Preparation of the sauce
take a little amount of oil and let it boil to low fry the vegetables. the veggies include finely chopped– spring onions, capsicums, ginger garlic paste, green chillis. Stir them rapidly until they turn brown.
4) Now add soya sauce, red chilli sauce, green chilli sauce, vinegar and tomato ketchup. mix them thoroughly. Now add the mushrooms in the sauce pan. mix thoroughly. For thickness of the sauce, mixture of cornflour and sauce is added to the pan.

Chilli Cheese Toast Recipe

Made with regular bread slices, these cheese sandwiches taste scrumptious and are prefect for occasions like picnics and road trips. Ingredients :
4 slices Bread
2 tsp Cheese (grated)
1 Green Chilli (thin long variety)
1/2 tsp Chilli flakes
1/2 tsp Italian Seasoning
1 tsp Mayonnaise
1/2 tsp Tomato sauce
1 tsp capsicum (optional)
1)Cut green chillies finely and grate cheese. Keep aside.
2)Take the bread slice and apply the Mayonnaise,tomato sauce and spread equally. Then spread cheese & chilli.

3) Sprinkle seasoning & chilli falkes evenly on top and cover with the remaining slices.
4)Heat a toaster/sandwich maker for few seconds. Place the prepared bread slices and cook till it turns golden brown.
5) Cut diagonally and serve hot with tomato sauce!
My Notes:
1)You can add capsicum as its less spicy.
2)Use long green chillies as it is less spicy.

The Fried Vegetable Rolls is a popular Starter. Made of a large assortment of veggies, ranging from potatoes to beans and capsicum, this yummy starter is excitingly flavored with spices. It is a perfect starter for any party or gathering because there is something in it for everybody. It has been highly appreciated by all my guests who have tried it. Whenever I invite people for dinner, they ask if I will be serving crispy veggie rolls! Relish this starter hot and fresh, with tomato ketchup. You can serve these as a meal, wrapped in a tortilla or stuffed into a pita bread, or you can have them as an appetizer served on a skewer or toothpick with a side of my delicious, garlicky yogurt sauce

2 cups boiled and mashed potatoes
1/2 cup finely chopped french beans
5 tbsp boiled green peas
1/4 cup finely chopped capsicum
1 tbsp oil
1 tsp finely chopped green chillies
1/2 tsp ginger-garlic paste
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp soy sauce
salt to taste
1/2 cup plain flour (maida)
bread crumbs for rolling
oil for deep-frying
1. Combine the plain flour and approx. ¾ cup of water in a deep bowl, whisk well and keep aside.
2. Heat the oil in a broad non-stick pan, add the green chillies and ginger- garlic paste, mix well and sauté on a medium flame for 30 seconds.
3. Add the french beans and capsicum and sauté on a medium flame for 5 to 7 minutes.
4.Add the chilli powder and soy sauce, mix well and sauté on a medium flame for 30 seconds
5.Add the potatoes, green peas and salt, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2 minutes, while stirring occasionally. Cool slightly.
6.Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape each portion into a roll shape.
7. Dip each roll into the prepared plain flour-water mixture so that it is evenly coated on all the sides.
8. Roll it in bread crumbs till they are evenly coated from all the sides.
9. Heat the oil in a deep non-stick pan and deep-fry a few balls at a time on a medium flame till they turn golden brown in color from all the sides. Drain on an absorbent paper.
10. Serve immediately with tomato ketchup.
