Oats Bisibelabath Recipe

My friends and myself search options how to reduce weight and what to have to reduce???I think many of us think the same way…. Am I correct????  Becoz all ur life style has changed so much that people get diabetes, high cholesterol, and obesity at very young ages. So everyone is looking for healthy food or healthy alternatives to regular food. Here today i tried a recipe will sure help out some how to our questions… it’s a healthy alternative to BisiBelaBath ……..Its a wholesome, one pot meal with all the nutritious goodness going into it in the form of oats, protein rich dal, mixed vegetables and warming spices
1 cup Quacker oats
1 cup Toor dhal

1 cup onions (finely chooped)
2 Tomatoes (finely chooped)
1 cup chopped carrot, capsicum & green beans and  peas
1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
1 tsp Chili powder.
1 tsp Coriander powder
1 tsp Bisibelebath powder.
2 tsp Thick tamarind juice.
1/4 tsp Asafetida.
1/4 Mustard seeds
1/4 Cumin seeds
5 – 6  Curry leaves .
Salt as per taste.


First Wash the toor dhal well, add the turmeric powder, and cook it for up to 3 whistles in the pressure cooker and keep aside
Cut the other vegetables like carrots greens beans etc. and cook them in a pressur cooker seperately until they are fully cooked.
Peel the  onions, and dice the tomatoes.
Take a  a pan with 1 tablespoon of oil. When the oil turns hot, add the mustard & cumin seeds and let it splutter.
Now add the curry leaves and  onions and sauté for 5 minutes until the onions are fried till brown
Now add the tomatoes and keep sautéing until everything is well blended.
Now Pour 3 cups of water and add the chili powder, coriander powder, bisibelebath powder, and tamarind juice and let it boil for 5 minutes under medium flame.
Now add salt as per taste and add the cooked dhal along with the asafetida and  veggies and let it simmer for 2 minutes.
Add oats and mix. Place lid and cook on low flame. Turn off heat and remove onto a serving bowl.
Yummy bisibelabath is ready to serve.! Serve with Cucumber or onion raitha also with potato chips and papad  ……   It tastes best when slightly hot or warm
