Rajasthani food is incomplete without the mention of the famed Dal-Baati-Churma. It consists of baatis or flaky round breads baked over firewood or over kandas (i.e. cow dung cakes) as done in villages. Baatis can be baked in a gas tandoor or an electric oven as well. A platter of semi-sweet Churma ka ladoo, spicy Dal and Baati, is one such traditional combination. Ghee is the more rustic and traditional way to serving this awesome dish. Fresh baatis drowned in piping hot dal is a perfect accompaniment for churma.Being a north Indian i love daal baati very much..
4 cups Chapati Flour/Atta
1 cup rava
2 tsp ghee
2 cup Water (approx)
salt to taste
1/4 cup hot ghee for dipping baati
1/2 cup jaggery for churma ladoo
FOR MOONG DAL:
1 cup moong dal (split green gram)
2 tsp oil for dal (tadka)
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp coriander powder
1/4 turmeric powder
2 Green Chillies
1 tsp Ginger & Garlic
4-5 cury leaves
2-3 cloves& bayleaves
a pinch of asafoetida
2 cup Water (approx)
1 /2 tsp Salt
Fresh Lime /Lemon Juice for garnish
FOR MAKING DAL::::
Soak moong dal for 2 hours . In a pressure cooker add dal with 4 cups of water, salt, turmeric cook on medium heat for 3 whistles.
Allow the steam to escape before opening the lid. Do not drain the water and keep aside.
Take a pan or kadhai add oil , add the cloves, bayleaves, cumin seeds, green chillies, cury leaves and asafoetida, sauté on a medium flame for a few seconds
When the seeds crackle, add the garlic paste sauté on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes.
Now add coriander powder, turmeric powder, chilli powder and garam masala, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2 minutes, while stirring occasionally and simmer for 5 to 7 minutes. Adjust the consistency of the dal before serving and if required, add some water.
Add the coriander and mix well. Keep aside. Add lemon juice evenly over it. The dal is ready to serve…
FOR MAKING BAATI ::
In a mixing bowl mix all the dry ingredients together, flour, sooji, salt Add the ghee and mix with fingers, add the water as need to make firm dough, knead the dough well. It should be little hard & tight …Set aside for about 10 minutes.
Divide the dough into 5 equal portions and shape each portion into an even sized round ball
Now place the baati’s in tandoori oven in a medium flame.. None of them will expand in size, so you do not need to space them far apart, but just enough for the heat circulation to cook them well from all sides
Just roll on when one side turns brown it will take near about half an hour for the baati to get ready but we have to be careful & keep rolling baati’s to to get cooked completely…Allow them to cool
Now take ghee in a bowl press and break the baati dip in ghee and keep aside …. Baati is ready to serve with dal
Take 3 baati’s squash and drizzle some ghee and jaggery mix well with your hands and make even sized round ladoo as i made..
DONT FORGET TO ADD SOME LOVE AND SERVE IT ..

Oats is very healthy and its useful and easy digestive. Oats contain beta-glucans, a type of soluble fibre that slows down the absorption of carbohydrates into the bloodstream. This slower digestion prevents dramatic spikes in blood sugar and insulin levels that would otherwise encourage our bodies to produce and store fat. I opened it and there was this gorgeous pink box. I instantly fell in love with the box which made me think of my childhood memories It’s so cute..
The pink box had written one side with a box of memories which really took me to my childhood sweet memories …….

and the chilli guava is no exception ..Paper boat drinks has added one more gem called “Chilli Guava” to their wonderful range to make us relive…..
I always prefer Guava flavored drink and this one from Paper Boat is quite a satisfying drink than other drink we get in market………
The name ‘Paper Boat’ attracts kids. The nutritive Guava drink is a treat to our health .Guava being mineral and vitamin rich, helps us remain active throughout the day. Sweetness of the fruit and hot spiciness of chili “blends” well in this drink. Guava they say is responsible for growth of blood inside the human body,Let truth be in this Statement and following this I surely will like this drink a & Recommend Others
Liked the heat kick from the chili and reminded me of fresh guava with salt and chili.
The Product has the little bit coarse taste of the raw guava and the chilli mixed give it bit chill down in the taste bud. When Thirsty it provide refreshing taste. Thats mine view , i like the drink very cool and real shaky. No added colours, no preservatives.. Just the good old goodness Check the color and how it looks before we drink
Reason why paper boat is the best drink :
1) Because its 100% Natural!! So its absolutely safe & value for money which we pay!!!
2) Because there are no artificial ingredients added in these drinks . ( isn’t that unbelievable? but its TRUE. )
3) They have flavours of traditional drinks form all over India! Very much unique and different, flavours you wouldn’t get when you purchase other drinks!
4) Beautiful packaging. Even the sealed cap has such a sweet shape. & it tastes amazing , that you would get lost in the first sip!
5) These drinks come in attractive and eco-friendly packages, so in every purchase , you are saving the environment as they are recycled! ( What is more greater than this?)

Paper Boat presents Rizwan and bring back ur sweet memories!!!!
Once my friend came from Mumbai she loved rajasthani dishes very much so i wanted to give her pleasant dinner making khobaroti.. which is eaten with Moong daal…
An authentic Rajasthani thali is traditionally vegetarian. The Rajasthani Khoba is a famous and traditional dish it looks thick and crusty, and tastier than the regular chappati. The success of this recipe depends a lot on how you knead the atta, so do spend a considerable amount of time kneading with your knuckles…
So let see how can make khoba roti.
Wheat flour (atta) (1 cup)
Salt (¼ tsp)
Desi ghee (2 tbsp)
Water to make a thick dough
1. Take flour is a big bowl and then Add salt and 50 grms ghee in flour and mix well. Now add little water at a time and knead bit hard dough than required for making regular roti and cover it keep aside for 15 minutes to set.
2. After 15 min over just take the flour apply some oil in ur palm and knead the dough again until it is smooth
3. Make a round dough ball(each three-times the size of the balls used for normal rotis). Place the dough ball on rolling plate and roll like u roll for roti…
4. Heat a tawa on a medium flame and place the roti on it. Flip it once light brown patches begin to appear on the inside and take a knife and just pinch it 4-5 times as it wont comes out like roti..
5.Now turn the roti and make small peaks with help of your thumb and finger on the roasted side of your roti. Make peaks on the entire roti.
6.Roast until roti gets brown spots on the other side. Take the roti off the tawa and plop it directly onto a low flame until it gets brown spots on both sides.
7. Place the roti on a plate & apply desi ghee on it… Now ur khoba roti is ready serve hot
I served to my friend with moong daal as well we can eat khoba roti with jaggery and ghee like it is shown in the plate in the pic… She really enjoyed it very well ..
You all too try it and surprise your friends who love Rajasthani dishes.. A ny doubt am always there to guide u friends …..
